INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

ART X  is excited to offer a dynamic and hands-on internship programme for a cohort of enthusiastic, and energetic individuals to contribute to our upcoming campaign season and 10th year anniversary fair. This 4-month paid internship will run from August to November, providing a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute meaningfully to the operations of the leading international art fair in West Africa. 

Over the course of the programme, interns will become integral members of their respective teams, providing support while gaining valuable experience. These teams include: Admin, Guest Relations and Marketing. This programme offers a pathway for the Admin Intern role in particular to transition into an extended Intern position after the initial 4 months.

ABOUT THE ROLES

ADMIN INTERN

  • Focus: Providing essential administrative support with the goal of ensuring optimal operations of the organization during and after campaign season
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Ensure the office is running smoothly and assist in handling tasks and resolving issues related to daily operational activities.
    • Assist in managing team welfare including the planning and execution of internal team-building activities, meetings and social events
    • Assist in inventory management of company property, merchandise and materials.
    • Liaise with the company’s vendors, maintain vendor relationships and handle vendor negotiations.
    • Manage the supply of office stationery and work tools needed by the team.
    • Assist with travel logistics: managing hotel bookings, vehicle hire, flight bookings (local and international), and airport concierge bookings.
    • Assist with the management of incoming and outgoing ‘mail’.
    • Handle out-of-office tasks with external stakeholders and vendors.
    • Other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager

GUEST RELATIONS INTERN:

  • Focus: Providing support to the Guest Relations team in maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including VIPs, and guests during campaign season.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Support in the management and strengthening of relationships with new and existing VIPs, other high-net-worth and international guests.
    • Support contact in correspondence with VIPs, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication to foster long-term relationships.
    • Manage and nurture existing partnerships, fostering effective communication and sustained collaboration.
    • Work with the Guest Relations Team to manage guest registrations and reservations, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient record-keeping.
    • Maintain and update customer relationship database, including data clean-up, segmentation, as well as prepare reports and insights
    • Collaborate with internal teams—such as Communications, Design, Events, and Operations—to deliver a seamless guest experience.
    • Other tasks as assigned by the Head of Operations.

MARKETING INTERN

  • Focus: Supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of our Marketing team by providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure efficient execution of marketing campaigns, sponsorship initiatives, and partnership projects. 
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Support the Marketing team in the development, implementation, coordination of marketing strategies, campaigns, and activities.
    • Provide administrative assistance to the Marketing team, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings and coordinating travel arrangements.
    • Review all marketing assets produced against the brand guidelines and approved copy and design mock-ups to ensure they are error free. 
    • Assist in planning and executing marketing events, sponsorship activities, and partnership initiatives by coordinating logistics, materials, and on-site support.
    • Assist in managing relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring all paperwork is administered correctly and the timely delivery and quality of services.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate is a graduate with a passion for art and culture. You are  detail-oriented, highly organised, and proactive, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Other key requirements include:

  • A minimum of a  Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • A strong cultural alignment with ART X’s values of excellence, ownership, kindness, integrity - consistently going the extra mile as a catalyst for change
  • A genuine passion for art and culture, and alignment with ART X’s values and mission
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Respect for confidentiality and professional conduct
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Docs

ROLE SPECIFICATIONS

This is a full-time, in-person internship programme, based in Lagos for four months, from August to November. NYSC candidates are welcome to apply. All interns must provide their own laptop and smartphone.
