UP AT NIGHT (2019)

As dusk fades, Kinshasa falls into another night without electricity. Makengo’s steady gaze surveys the monotony and circularity of hope when communities are forced to live in darkness. In an act of solidarity, Up at Night is shot entirely in darkness, capturing the reality of one of Africa’s wealthiest nations shrouded in conflict and uncertainty.
